Children will pay more attention to toys and activities that they choose.
Look, stop and listen with your child and let him take the lead. It’s a hard one to start to do, as we tend to try and ‘direct’ their play as a grown up!
Join in the play and imitate what your child says or does, and them wait for them to take another turn.
Just respond with interest to what your child says or does – and remember, make sure you respond to what they are interested in, not what you may think is important!
